The majority of films screening this year are available on-demand for the entire duration of the festival. Tell me more about this Discord server?
This year's virtual festival also includes the launch of our CFF 2023 Discord server. Each film/shorts block in CFF 2023 has a separate channel on the server. This means that fans will be able to discuss the films without spoiling them for folks who haven't seen them yet. Attending filmmakers will also have access to these Discord channels, which work like a 24 hour Q&A session. We'll still have plenty of filmed Q&As and other special events you can tune into with this year's filmmakers, but the Discord means if you watch a film at 4 am and have a burning question for the filmmaker, you'll be able to ask it at any point during the festival.
How do I get Discord?
Don't worry; Discord is free to download app that you can access from your desktop or mobile devices. If you're a CFF 2023 Badge holder or filmmaker and don't already have Discord, you can download it HERE.
How do I gain access to the CFF 2023 Discord Server?
Access to this year's Discord server and live special events are only open to badge holders and CFF 2023 filmmakers if you've purchased a CFF 2023 badge or have a film screening at this year's fest lookout for an email from us the week of the event with your invite to the server. If you bought a badge and haven't yet received your Discord invite drop us a line at CFFhelpdesk@chattfilmfest.org and we'll get you taken care of right away.
Why is this year's festival being presented in a hybrid format?
A very big reason: presenting the festival virtually these last few years taught us some valuable lessons about accessibility and its importance to the future of film festivals. We've always worked hard to make CFF a warm and inclusive event, and we feel that to keep that promise, we have to embrace a hybrid format in the future while also doing everything we can to help keep the costs of our festival badges as low as possible. BONUS: You get to see more great movies and we get to work with and share the creations of even more talented filmmakers we admire. It's win fucking win y'all.
How can I watch this year's events?
CFF 2023 events are open to badge holders only. To help further build the sense of community around our virtual festival, we've started a Chattanooga Film Festival Discord server. An email invitation to join the server will be going out the week of the festival to both badge holders and our 2023 filmmakers. This email will also contain a link to view the CFF 2023 Live Stream, where we'll be broadcasting all of our events. So if you've purchased a badge or have a film screening this year, you'll receive your invitation VERY SOON! If you haven't received your invitation link by June 23rd, please email us at CFFhelpdesk@chattfilmfest.org, and we'll get you taken care of right away!
